PRESENTATION TOPIC: Redirecting Children’s Behavior For A Peaceful Home Front PRESENTATION STYLE: Interactive PRESENTATION SUMMARY: In our fast-paced society, adults and children spend much of their time in separate environments, We all want to make the most of the time we have together, especially if we are in a family that is separated by deployment. Sometimes it can become very difficult for us to give of ourselves, or get what we want from our relationships especially when we are dealing with our own trauma. This often causes dissention within our family unit. Kids become angry, break the rules, refuse to cooperate, get into power struggles, and the list goes on and on. We all know that children create a tremendous challenge for adults anyway. Top that off with living a military way of life, faced with parental deployments, the fear of what may happen, the ‘living on the edge’ feeling, and things can rapidly get out of control. Tensions build up and everyone feels like they’re living on a battlefield right in their own living room. Join Dr. Porter as she teaches you how to easily and effectively communicate and redirect behaviors. Learn what your child is really trying to tell you through his or her behavior. Get a glimpse into how the Redirecting Children’s Behavior parenting course can help you have a much more peaceful “home front”. If you feel out of control, or wonder how you’ll cope with your children and your returning warrior, then you don’t want to miss this presentation. You will leave with at least one new skill to try at home.

Cory Snooks Iraqi Veteran, married to an army veteran. Yuen Practitioner. 3604 Galley Rd., Ste 100, Colorado Springs, CO 80917, 719-387-1836. Cory Snooks is an Idaho native. He started working at age 12, and was working full time and attending school by age 14. Cory joined the army a month after graduating from high school, and was stationed in Friedberg, Germany where he was assigned to work on electronics for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. From there Cory was deployed to Iraq where he served as Squad Leader/Shop Foreman. He was also a lead driver for the convoy security detail leading over 60 missions in the Al Anbar Province. Cory received a Purple Heart when his truck was hit by an IED while on one of these missions. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Cory and his wife, who also was in the Army and whom he met while stationed in Germany, moved to Colorado Springs, CO. There they found themselves discussing Alternative healing therapies. Cory was led to reading a book about how to raise the body’s vibration to heal others; he tried the technique, and found that it worked. Soon after he was led to read about the Yuen Method, and again once he tried it he was very impressed by how quick and effective it was. This led Cory to study and train as a Yuen Method Practitioner. A skilled Yuen Method Practitioner listens intuitively to your subconscious and finds the root cause of any blockages in your body’s energy flow. These blockages are also called weaknesses in your energy flow. Any time a weakness is found, a correction in the form of a thought or intention will be sent to the central nervous system. The body takes the thought and uses it to identify and clear out any blockages in its energy flow. When the root cause is found, the physical pain, or the emotional charge will dissipate. Cory is an admired and highly skilled Yuen Method Practitioner and offers individual sessions for clients. PRESENTATION TOPIC: The Yuen Method as a Means of Healing and Restoring Balance PRESENTATION STYLE: Experiential - Interactive Lecture/Discussion PRESENTATION SUMMARY: In this presentation Cory will explain the Yuen Method, its history, its founder, what it is, how it works, and why it works. He’ll also tell you who can be worked on, and how to muscle test for direction and answers. Volunteers from the audience may be called to the front of the room to help demonstrate various techniques. 25. Crystie Snooks, RET Army veteran – Germany, Rapid Eye Technology Practitioner. 3604 Galley Rd., Ste 100, Colorado Springs, CO 80917, 719-387-1836. Crystie was born and raised in Idaho as the oldest of 7. After high school she moved to Boston where she received her bachelor’s degree in religion from Wellesley College. After graduation she traveled and worked as she gained first hand knowledge of the states. An avid reader, Crystie was contemplating the similarities of her favorite authors and realized that most of them had spent time in the military. She decided to follow their lead and joined the Army as an electronics technician. She was stationed in Friedberg, Germany where she met her husband, Cory. Crystie suffered with chronic pain, fatigue, and dizziness which made her tour of duty rather unpleasant for her. Once she was discharged from the Army she began her quest for pain relief and healing, and was led to a technique called Rapid Eye Treatment (RET). RET is a way to quickly release stress and trauma without reliving the event that caused it in the first place. RET works physiologically as well as psychologically by opening up the neural pathways where memories of our personal (as well as DNA inherited) traumatic experiences are trapped. RET stimulates the body’s own natural release system, REM sleep. In this state, the conscious mind can communicate with the unconscious mind, directing it to let go of the negative charge of every issue. When people move their eyes in certain directions, they are accessing specific kinds of information in the brain. RET stimulates REM sleep with an eye-directing device that a trained practitioner moves rapidly in a neuro-linguistic pattern in from of the client’s eyes. The peripheral vision picks this up and the brain thinks it is in REM sleep. RET utilizes blinking eye movements, breathing, imagery, and stress reduction energy work to facilitate the quick release of stressful, emotional, mental, and physical patterns. Because of the healing Crystie experienced in her own life with RET, she decided to study this modality and become a Rapid Eye Technology Practitioner in order to help others. Crystie’s military service gives her some insight into what our military men and women may face and experience while deployed overseas. Crystie and her husband, Cory often work side by side in providing a unique blend of modalities to effect rapid and lasting changes. 26.
